Anthy, Akio, 10-VIII-2008

A sketch/preview of an Utena fanart concept, photoshopped a bit. What I failed to draw is Akio and Anthy's hands and necks tied together with threads so tightly that they bleed. What I succeeded to draw is the fluid transition from one's hair color into the other's, this came out about as was intended. Colors of the roses were chosen with no special meaning attached to them, just for the composition's sake. ( Which came out lame. )

I'm in a constant Utena phase so it's quite likely I resit this drawing session some other day. Anthy and Akio's relationship is fascinating to me, I've read loads of analytic essays on Utena and still these two remain so mysterious. And the Mamiya boy, too. I guess I'll end up writing an essay myself to see where it gets me...
